Hintly Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Hintly ("the Extension" and the service behind it). By installing or using Hintly, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Hintly.

1. The Service

1.1 What Hintly Does

Hintly is a Chrome extension for Google Meet. While you switch it on, it asks Meet for the call's live captions and shows short hints and reminders about things people mention. Hintly is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

1.2 Plans

Trial: Every account includes 60 minutes of calls with Hintly on, once. The trial does not reset.
Pro: A monthly subscription that includes 50 hours of calls with Hintly on each billing period.

Call time is counted while Hintly is processing a call's captions. Per-minute limits apply to protect the service.

1.3 Accuracy of Hints

Hints are written automatically by AI models and can be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial or other important decisions.

2. Your Account

You sign in with a Google account. Your account is for you alone. You are responsible for activity under it.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Break the law or others' rights: Use Hintly in a call where doing so breaks the law, your organization's policies, or the reasonable expectations of the people on the call.
Circumvent limits: Bypass, disable or interfere with usage metering, allowances, rate limits or sign-in, including creating accounts to get more trial time.
Reverse engineer or resell: Decompile, modify, copy, resell or redistribute the Extension or access its service other than through the Extension.
Abuse the service: Send automated or excessive requests or use Hintly to harm the service or other users.

4. Payment & Cancellation

4.1 Billing

Pro costs $12 per month, plus any applicable taxes, and renews automatically each month until cancelled. Polar sells the subscription as the merchant of record, so Polar's terms and refund policy also apply to your purchase. Hintly does not collect or store your payment details.

4.2 Cancellation

You can cancel anytime from Manage Subscription in the Hintly menu in Google Meet or on the account page at hintly.tips. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.

4.3 Refunds

Outside your legal rights, payments are non-refundable and partial months are not credited. The free trial lets you try Hintly before you pay.

4.4 Your Right to Cancel

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you may have a right to cancel within 14 days of your first payment. Pro starts as soon as you subscribe. If you start using it during those 14 days and then cancel, you may be charged for the service you have already received. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights.

4.5 Price Changes

Prices may change. Any change to your subscription price is announced before it takes effect, and applies from your next billing period.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

Hintly is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Hintly depends on Google Meet and third-party services and may stop working, change or be interrupted, for example when Google Meet changes.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hintly is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill. Total liability for any claim relating to Hintly is limited to the amount you paid for Hintly in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

7. Termination

7.1 By You

You can stop using Hintly at any time by uninstalling it, and cancel your subscription as described above. You can delete your account from the account page at hintly.tips/account. Deleting your account cancels any Pro subscription straight away, without a refund for the rest of the period, subject to your rights in section 4.4. A new account with the same email does not get another free trial.

7.2 By Hintly

Access may be suspended or ended, without refund, if you break these Terms, attempt to circumvent limits, initiate a fraudulent payment dispute, or use Hintly in a way that harms the service or others.

8. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Please contact support@hintly.tips first to resolve any dispute informally. If that fails, disputes will be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you can also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and you keep the protection of its mandatory consumer laws.

9. General Provisions

9.1 Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Continuing to use Hintly after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9.2 Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

9.3 Entire Agreement

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Hintly regarding the Extension.
